External and internal works at Leicester Square site captured by Hideaway Studios Group
WE have recently finished work on another iconic Lego project, this time in the heart of London’s West End.
The recently opened Leicester Square store is now Lego’s biggest in the world, transformed from an empty shell to flagship retail space in just 18 weeks by our client ISG. It is home to a 637,000-brick Underground train, one-tonne scale-model Big Ben and the store’s very own mascot – Lester.
We worked closely with ISG – one of the UK’s top 10 contractors* – from September through November, to capture works across the two floors of this major project using a multi-camera solution.
Like all retail fit-outs we have worked on, creating a comprehensive edit of Lego’s largest store required careful planning due to the speed of change. Many important activities, such as model installations, stocking shelves and a special launch event, need to be captured rapidly to help us create a vibrant and memorable video.
The new store is situated inside LSQLONDON, a flagship office and retail development at 48 Leicester Square. We previously captured the external work and extension at the site for another of our clients – strategic design agency Sectorlight – between 2014 and 2016.
This is just one of many Lego-focused projects we have completed, previously working at the Discover Centre Manchester and LEGOLAND Windsor Resort. Our videos of everything from model builds to special exhibits have been used around the world – even as far away as Texas, USA and Osaka, Japan!
The new store opened on Thursday 17 November 2016 and the finished three-minute video edit is now with ISG. We have received fantastic feedback on it already and are look forwarding to working on more iconic Lego projects in the future.
