Long-term video work with housing specialist Lovell at Beacon Barracks
THE CONSTRUCTION of hundreds of new homes for returning army personnel has been fully documented in a unique video with the help of our team.
Lovell approached Hideaway Media – with our years of experience working on both construction sites and Ministry of Defence (MoD) projects – to help them document the scope of transformation works at MoD Stafford.
With two fully managed camera systems in situ for the start of ground clearance works, we covered the monumental £51m redevelopment with both long-term time-lapse and specialist video capture methods to ensure the best and most cost-effective results for our client.
We used two bespoke, secure networked time-lapse camera systems – strategically repositioned when required – to show the main narrative of works.
And we also utilised multiple hardware and software solutions – including 3-axis stabilisation hardware and traditional video capture – across many days of filming to enhance the Ultra HD time-lapse images.
Liaising closely with key project staff throughout the project, we made sure the final video was delivered with carefully selected text screens, music, graphics and still images as requested and required.
The edit has since been used both at a special launch presentation when the handover of the site was completed and also internally across Lovell.
Built at unprecedented speed in little over a year, the 364 new homes at Beacon Barracks fall under a wider £150m Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) redevelopment for Service personnel from 1 and 16 Signal Regiment returning from Germany to Stafford.
Completing this project for Lovell has seen our involvement in MoD projects continue, having previously worked with Kier on their redevelopment of RAF Lyneham (also a DIO programme.)
However, the work does not stop there for us, as we already have time-lapse and video jobs lined up at other former military sites across the UK.
